Bio from
The City Club

James Compton (Lead Composer, Lyricist, Music Supervisor, Orchestrator) At the age of 9, James taught himself to play boogie-woogie and blues piano and to this day this has remained his first love. He pursued a successful career as a live and studio musician, backing international stars as diverse as Robert Plant, Imelda May, Glenn Campbell, and Solomon Burke.  He worked on six motion picture soundtracks, has worked as a record producer on seven albums for other artists, has written and recorded several TV theme tunes and has been musical supervisor on twelve musicals in London's West End. After a successful 30-year career in music, The City Club has at last given him the chance to unite his two greatest passions: blues and musical theater.
