David F. Segal (Lighting Design) is a native New Yorker. On Broadway, David designed Mitchell Maxwell’s Damn Yankees, Oh! Calcutta!, The Heiress, Irene, Twigs, The Robber Bridegroom, Sarava, Lolita, Loose Ends, The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel, That’s Entertainment, Summer Brave, Happy Birthday, Wanda June and others. David has designed at The American and Canadian Stratford Shakespeare Festivals, The Dallas Opera, The Washington Opera, and The Kennedy Center. He is an Associate Artist of the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego where he designed over thirty productions and is the recipient of five Hollywood Critics DRAMALOGUE Awards. Off-Broadway and London audiences know his designs for Full Gallop, and New Yorkers have seen that and many dozens of others. Around the Country his designs have been seen at the Long Wharf, Hartford Stage, La Jolla Playhouse, Mark Taper Forum, Goodspeed Opera, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Seattle Rep, Goodspeed Opera, Ford’s Theatre, GEVA, Buffalo Studio, Cincinnati’s Playhouse in the Park, Coconut Grove Playhouse, and more. In New York, his lighting has been seen at The Radio City Music Hall, The New Federal Theatre, Circle in the Square, and Roundabout Theatres. He created 26 productions for John Houseman and The Acting Company and in Las Vegas he designed The Folies Bergere, The History of Sex and Just Another Man.
