We are VERY excited to once again be holding an OPEN audition day for (ONLY) non-Equity performers for the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF).  As has been our practice since 2010, you must sign-up online to guarantee an audition timeslot.

Our Open Audition Day is set for MONDAY, April 27th, 2015 taking place between 9:30 AM and 5:45 PM at Pearl Studios.  To attend, please CAREFULLY follow these instructions:

Step 1.) Register for our Electronic Audition Registration System (or retrieve your login information if you have previously used our system.)  You may register now and should absolutely have your account information in order as soon as possible.

Step 2.) On Tuesday, April 21st, at 11:30 PM ET, we will open up registration for the 4/27 NYMF Audition.  A link will appear that will allow you to secure an available timeslot of your choosing.  The website to reload is http://audition.michaelcassara.net – this website lists the official time off of which we are basing this.  At 11:30 PM, a new Audition Event will appear, and you will be able to follow prompts to see available timeslots.  They will be scattered throughout the day, plan in advance what time will make the most sense for you – so you can go straight there upon gaining access to our site.

Step 3.) Upon successful registration, you should be e-mailed a confirmation and instructions.  It will also appear on the website; we encourage you to print or save these instructions, in case your e-mail is somehow lost in the shuffle.

A few notes:

  • Historically, most available appointments have booked up within the first 60 seconds of registration being live.
  • We were the first casting office to offer online sign-ups and have been fine-tuning this system since 2010.  While we have had smooth sailing for many years now, we want to remind you that this is a completely voluntary day – we’re providing it as a service to the shows and the performer community and, if something goes wrong, we might need to re-write the rules and procedures as we go along.  That being said, our Facebook page will  have the latest updates and information as things progress.  We anticipate smooth-sailing, but appreciate your patience and understanding should we hit any bumps along the way.
  • If you do NOT get a timeslot, here is our SAME DAY STANDBY/ALTERNATE POLICY: we will see performers who have not registered for a timeslot AS TIME PERMITS.  If you are attending as a standby, do NOT arrive until 10:30 AM, at which point an alternate list will be started and we will do our best to work a few people into each group, as time permits.  No unofficial list will be accepted.  Please bring 10 picture/resumes, and a brief (8 to 16 bars or 30 or so seconds) selection from your book and we will do our best to work folks in throughout the day.
  • As always, performers are able to release their timeslot if they’re not able to attend, so keep checking the site once registration is live, as new times do tend to pop up with some regularity.
